Final Score:
RJC 56-32 TPJC
Like our second game, we started this game badly being 4-0 down too. (Gerrard Lai started RJC's scoring with a Tim Duncan under-the-basket fake right spin left and score) We were having trouble finding the basket and had a number of defensive lapses as well. We adjusted on our 2-2-1 press which we worked on during the previous training and finally started pulling away gradually.
We shot better from the charity stripe for this game but sub 40% shooting from beyond did us in as we struggled to find any momentum to try and beat an opponent by more than 30 points for the first time this season.
Overall, our new and improved 2-2-1 benefited us in many ways. TPJC was turning over a lot, though we were not sure if it was because of our pressure (we hope so) or because of their string of bad passes. The scoreline indicates a convincing victory but the team definitely hungers to kill off oppositions with more efficiency.
Our last game will be against Innova Junior College, the runners-up in last year's championships. The game will decide the group champions.
