RJC - SAJC

Final Score:
RJC 51-35 SAJC

And so after months of training and DREAMing, our A Division campaign has finally started on a positive note with a victory over the Saints. With memories of last year's painful loss to IJC in the opening match still fresh in our minds (at least for the J2s), we made sure we were ready to put up a good fight today.

After an immediate lay up by Zheng Feng within seconds of the first quarter, our team went on to build up a steady lead that SAJC would eventually find too much to overcome.

Most of our team's points were from fast breaks off the 2-2-1 press, mostly because today's outside shooting was minimal. However, coach's comment was that our 2-2-1 defense was far below the high standards that he's seen us perform at before, so we'll be sure to work on polishing that up in future games. Other things to improve on include our 1-4 offensive set plays as well as FREE THROWS (12 misses out of around 16 attempts today!).

Overall, despite the errors and opening match jitters, it was still a decent game with the entire bench getting playtime and match experience. As they say, a win is still a win.

1 game down, 8 more to go on our road to Toa Payoh Sports Hall and glory.

Next up we'll be facing MJC @ SBC Court 1 on Wednesday, 3.20pm.

(P.s. On a side note, the Girls' team also won their opening match against YJC 56-23 today!)
