Finally, we've managed to beat Cat High (edited by coach)! and it was still a very much convincing win against the defending national and south-zone champions. 12.15pm today, we tipped off for one of the most important matches in our fixtures, a match between 2 traditional powerhouses in the south-zone.
Both teams came out strong from the tip, ending the quarter with the score tied at 10-10. The next quarter, however, our 5 was continuously broken by aaron, their sec 1 point guard. That was basically due to the lack of communication between the players whenever there was a screen. Our offense worked for us, with Jordaan lighting up with 9 consecutive points for us, allowing us to end the 26-22. In the 3rd and 4th quarter, we started our 2-2-1 trap, although our front row made several mistakes, we still managed to have many fast-breaks, limiting them to only 2 points in the 3rd and scoring 13. In the end, we won 61-33

Comment from Coach: The last time we beat Cat High in a C Div match was in 2005, when AnZhen and Danny's team triumphed over a resilient Cat High team 3x in that season. The following year, Cat High's dominance in C Div started. 2 years without a win is a long time, even though we came really close to them in the 2007 South Zone C Div finals.
