Gryphons 44 - 69 Tagawa

The prospect of term starting the next day was certainly a factor as we got off to a very lethargic start, allowing Tagawa's key player #9 to hit 4 three pointers in the opening quarter. In the second quarter, we managed to hold them to 9 points, and Tagawa never really managed to extend their 10 point lead until halfway through the 4 quarter. A breakdown in communication and the severe lack of intensity saw them surging on a 15 point streak and all of a sudden, they were up by 25 within a matter of minutes.
Fear before the opening tip was also possibly another factor as we faced a club with a very strong reputation in the basketball fraternity, but the team has learnt from this game that the standards between club teams and us are not extremely far, and we are capable of battling it out till the final whistle.
Our next game will be tomorrow, Monday 23rd June at SBC 5.30pm against Tong Why Sports Association.
