This game marked the start of the 2nd round, and it ended with a final score of 57-26.
Coach had found out that their biggest threats were in their lanky and mobile posts, and ordered us to set up a 3-2 zone. This was a great tactic as we raced to a 26-5 lead in the first quarter. As we started our 3 point line man-to-man defense, it still looked bright as we romped to a 43-11 lead at the half. From there, we started to get cocky and felt that we had won the game already. Macpherson Sec outscored us 15-14 in a dispirited second half to end the game 57-26.
Lessons to remember:
1) Mindset--although we came ready to play (all the mental preparation and all) we didnt come ready to FIGHT and PUNISH the opposition for ALL 4 QUARTERS!
2) Adapting to defenses--this was no excuse as we had played the man to man since the beggining of the year
3) Fitness--we all were not very match fit and were panting after the first half
That's all so far we've got lots of training to do
