RI 100-21 BSS

RI beat Bendemeer Secondary School 100-21 in the 2nd Match of their B Division Campaign.

As usual, we did our pre-match huddle routine to hype up and indeed it was so!

We started off the game with our press and completely denied them a chance to attack (until one slip up), ending the first quarter 22-2 up. We increased our momentum in the second quarter with various emphatic shots by Weixuan and led 53-4 at the half.

At this point, Swee Teck reminded us not to be cocky, and that the new half was a new game-sound advice which we heeded. Although we cut some slack on defense in the third quarter, Ryan's 3 back-to-back dramatic three-pointers which hit nothing but net stole the show. We wrapped up the game with a different press in the last quarter, winning 100-21.

This game was a great moral booster, and we hope to improve our play in the coming matches!

First Game of The Season RI 69 - 31 ACSI

RI 69 vs 31 ACSI
In the first game of our B Division season 2009, we beat traditional rivals ACSI this afternoon.
We went into the game confident, however left the first quarter feeling rather frustrated with ourselves, leading by a mere 6 points going into the 2nd quarter. A series of rushed shots and bad shot selection, coupled with rather dubious calls at times led to a really messy offense from us, and we certainly lacked the defensive intensity we had one month ago in Shanghai.
Thankfully, we pulled away in the second half and managed to emerge victorious. This is the first competitive game we have played for more than one month, and the first game all twelve of us have played together, and most importantly showed us many areas we can and have to work on.
We'll take it one game at a time, and capitalise on the 5 week first round schedule to constantly improve as thirteen individuals (coach included) moulded into one.
Many thanks to Mr Ong Swee Teck and some family members for coming down to cheer us on from the sidelines!
Our next game will be played next Wednesday, 12pm @ CCAB vs Bendemeer Sec School.
Dream. Team. Fight. Win. BROTHERHOOD.
